With the 2021 MLB season coming to an end in the coming months, we have a new contender for one of Baseball’s most prestigious awards.
Austin Riley, that’s correct, your local Atlanta Braves residential 3B is showing he’s got the offensive and defensive numbers to prove he deserves the honor as Baseball’s Most Valuable Player. The Braves organization as a whole, is currently on a surge of success that every Braves fan can enjoy.
Since the All-Star break, Austin Riley ranks in the top 10 in the National League in Batting Average (.360), On-Base Percentage (.410), Home Runs (14), and OPS (1.074). Many of these stats could definitely increase, therefore cushioning his MVP case as well as help the Braves clinch the division in the final month of the 2021 MLB season.
After a tough month of baseball in June, and losing Acuña to an injury in July, they have been breaking barriers. Now the Braves are cruising through the 2nd half of the season, breaking the .500 win percentage (as of 8/31) and, have a comfortable 3.0 game lead in the NL East.
