Milledgeville GA- Two Georgia College students, Justin Daffinson and Walker Petty, have opened a new restaurant downtown. Since its opening, it has been seriously impacting the nightlife of the city.

Every weekend, between the hours of 10 PM and 3 AM, South Wayne Street is crawling with college students who want a late-night snack. It can be tough to find something to eat during these hours, but due to the opening of Milly Grub, late night food is only a block away from campus.

After a trip to Nashville for a Fraternity event, the two were inspired to create something for their own college town. “Coming back from the bars, I saw these hotdog stands with about 20 people in each line… I was thinking back to my small college town at Georgia College and wanted something more convenient for myself and other college students,” said Daffinson.

The new late-night dining service has been doing well since opening. Being located near many bars, and open late, has made it better for business. Petty even mentioned that because of their business being in the food industry, not alcohol, instead of competing with their neighbors, they have been sharing business and benefitting mutually.

Daffinson says that in the last week alone, the store sold 230 pounds of macaroni and cheese, and many of their exclusive items, such as The Georgia Dog, sell out nightly.

The restaurant isn’t just for late nights, they also do event catering. Throughout the year, they have not only provided several local fraternities and sororities with food, but they have also travelled to Georgia Southern and The University of Georgia for catering events.

In the future, Daffinson and Petty hope to expand their business into other college towns, and due to recent success, they believe it will happen sooner than later.
