BEING A DREAMER IS MULTIFACETED

“After spending years developing his ideas, Baylor Garrett has finally released his dream to the public, Dreamer Journalism.”

First of all, why make this National News? Because my goal, is to get a whole lot bigger than where I am now. My goal is to not only continue to put Middle Georgia on the map, but to bring notice that what is happening in this area is huge. Now, back to the story.

I know for a fact you have read this somewhere on our site already, but Dreamer Journalism is seriously more than just a dream to me. It’s more than just a little hustle, it’s more than an idea, more than even a legacy. In all honesty, I don’t care if this boosts my legacy, popularity or even social status, I couldn’t care less about that. The real reason I want this so bad is so that I can make a real impact in my community and the world I live in.

Being a true dreamer has nothing to do about yourself and your success, but more about how you can make an impact for other people and how you can influence others with the decisions you make.

Having a dream isn’t about what you can do on your own and how you succeed, that’s a fantasy. Being a dreamer is about taking risks and doing whatever it takes to achieve something that has a bigger meaning. Dream thinking isn’t just fantasizing about money & fame, it's deep thinking about changing the world and all of the paths you can take and the places they will take you.

I never thought I would get to this point, and there is still more room to grow as we are barely touching the surface.

I started this idea a long time ago, but as I constantly built on this dream it grew in so many different directions. Dreaming is less about one end goal, and more about how many goals you can reach along the way. Being a dreamer is truly multifaceted. If you don’t think about the multiple paths, goals, outcomes, decisions, and risks to make your dreams reality, you aren’t a true dreamer, and it took me a long time to realize this.

Fields of Faith 2018

Garrett, as a sophomore in high school, speaking about his faith through storms in his life to a crowd of 5500 people.

Back when I was in 8th and 9th grade, I let other people guide the way, because I didn’t believe in myself. It took push after push to get to the point where I moved forward and didn’t look back. Next I released my original brand called Enliven Threads with the intention to reach other people through something as simple as fashion. Shortly after that, began speaking, writing, designing, and growing my sophomore year. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with sharing with other people. I fell in love with the idea of spreading the truth and inspiring other people to never give up on their dream.

Enliven Threads

(Before Dreamer Journalism was designed and created, Garrett’s focus was on Enliven Threads, a positive clothing brand, that was later merged with Dreamer in 2021)

I’ve always wanted to be an influence in this world and in this community in some kind of way, but I never thought I would be able to do something like this.

This summer was really what gave me the push to make this happen. I had just graduated high-school and was looking for some sort of direction. At that point I was looking for somewhere to land college-wise: was thinking about college athletics, thinking about journalism, and also just thinking about what I really wanted to do with my life, and neither athletics nor journalism defined that for me.

Dreaming, sharing, loving, and growing defined that for me. Spreading the truth is what makes sense to me.

My ultimate dream is to spread love in any way possible. I cannot wait to share what else I have in store for all of you guys.

Baylor is the founder, owner, editor in chief, and head-journalist here at Dreamer Journalism. He began working towards Dreamer Journalism at the age of 14 by creating his own clothing line, then finally releasing the full platform at the age of 18 just after graduating high school.
